Vlad Portnoy is the managing attorney of the Law Offices of Vlad Portnoy, P.C. The firm has two offices, one in New York City (Midtown Manhattan) and another in Hackensack, New Jersey. The firm’s areas of practice include Wills & Trusts, Estate Planning, Special Needs Planning, and Elder Law (including Medicaid planning and Guardianships). A native Russian speaker, Mr. Portnoy is certified by the New York State Court System as a Russian-speaking court translator.

Mr. Portnoy is a member of the Elder Law and Trusts & Estates sections of the New York State Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Bergen County Bar Association, American Bar Association’s Estate Planners and Administrators Section, and New York City Bar Association. He is a former member of the New York City Bar Association’s Trusts, Estates, and Surrogate’s Court Committee and former Secretary of the NYCBA’s Committee on Legal Problems of the Aging (Elder Law). Mr. Portnoy is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He serves on the Board of Russian Speaking Business Attorneys of New York (RUSBAN), as well as several businesses and non-profit organizations.

Through frequent lectures on estate planning and elder law and by contributing articles to various English and Russian language print and online publications, Mr. Portnoy aims to educate the community on all aspects of estate and asset protection planning ranging from government benefit entitlement programs to high net worth individuals and family offices.
